  • Once our team has determined that you are a good candidate for weight-loss surgery and which surgery is most appropriate, you must complete the pre-surgery requirements prior to obtaining a surgery date. You may feel anxious and ready to get on with your progress in weight reduction, but this preparation period is an excellent time for you to begin making lifestyle changes. These changes will help your mind and body get ready for the demands of this procedure. The healthier you are before surgery, the better your body will respond to the stress of and heal from surgery. Some of the things that you can begin to do are: incorporate lifestyle changes necessary post surgery that were reviewed with you by our team

  • exercise – implement a light exercise routine (exercise should be a gradual process and any exercise regimen should be reviewed with your doctor)

  • take daily multivitamins

  • complete and submit to the administrative office all required tests results and/or consultations reports

  • attend the mandatory education classes

  • follow pre-operative instructions that begin one month before surgery

  • Change all routine medications to absorbable forms. Must be less than 8mm in diameter. NOT a sustained release, enteric coated or non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drugs.

  • Attend support group meetings.

  • Prepare your kitchen for your post-operative diets
