Over the past ten years, I have been living with Type
II Diabetes, severe obesity, high blood pressure, high
cholesterol, sleep apnea, extreme fatigue and an aching
body. I have tried dieting, exercise, a nutritionist,
a psychologist, and every diet pill out there.
I found out about the gastric bypass from friends
and family who have had the procedure. It was a huge
success for them. It scared me to death. Over three
years my wife and I struggled with fear about having
this done. Finally we decided on Easter 2006. I went
to see Dr. Borao. He told me without any hesitation
that the bypass was for me and not the lap band. On
June 20, 2006, I had the surgery. It was the scariest
day of my life.
It has been almost five months now and I am down almost
100lbs. Dr. Borao has given me my life back. I don’t
take any medications. My body does not ache. I have
more energy than ever in my life, and I don’t
sleep my life away. With the help of Dr. Borao’s
office staff, my medical insurance has paid for everything.
They answer any questions I have and always help me
at a moments notice. My life isn’t about what
my next meal is going to be, it’s about living
life with my family. Please understand that I eat almost
everything I did before, just much less. My body does
not allow me to over eat. I just eat until I feel full.
