Ernest M. Ginalis, M.D., FACS, earned his medical degree from the Aristotelion University, Greece, and completed his residency in general surgery at Monmouth Medical Center.

An attending surgeon at Monmouth Medical Center since 1995, Dr. Ginalis has special expertise in minimally invasive surgery in the treatment of diseases of the intestines, spleen and gallbladder, as well as hernias.

Dr. Ginalis is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is a member of the Society of the Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery.

Among his specials honors and achievements, Dr. Ginalis is Assistant Program Director of the surgical residency training program, and for the past two years, he received the "Chief Residents Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching" at Monmouth Medical Center — one of New Jersey’s largest teaching hospitals.
