Saad A. Saad, M.D.,
FACS, earned his medical degree from
the University of Cairo, and completed
his residency at the University of
Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
He completed a fellowship in pediatric
surgery at the Medical University
of South Carolina, Charleston, where
he trained with the nations
leading pediatric surgeon, Biemann
Otherson, M.D.
With more than
20 years experience in general, endoscopic
and laparoscopic surgery for children,
Dr. Saad, who is board certified in
general and pediatric surgery, is
the only pediatric surgeon serving
Monmouth and Ocean counties and is
just one of less than 500 such specialists
in the country. Dr. Saads has
extensive experience in laparoscopic
and thoracoscopic procedures for infants
and children, including gallbladder,
hernia, spleen removal, gastro-esophageal
reflux and diagnostic procedures.
A specialist in
complex thoratic, or chest, surgery
of children, Dr. Saad works with Frank
Borao, M.D., medical director of the
Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery
at Monmouth Medical Center, to provide
various laparoscopic and thoracosopic
procedures in infants and children.
Dr. Saad is a fellow
of the American College of Surgeons
and the American Pediatric Surgical
Association.
Among his special
honors and achievements, Dr. Saad
is well known locally and nationally
for his surgical skills, innovation
of new techniques and in teaching.
He has received numerous awards including
the prestigious Golden Apple Teaching
Award from Monmouths teaching
affiliate Drexel University College
of Medicine, Philadelphia.
